Cold Water Can Be Beneficial On A Diet
Nowadays, with the hot weather greeting us every time we step out the front door, it becomes more likely that we will crave something cool and refreshing to beat the heat. That can actually be good, because this way, we can keep our bodies from becoming dehydrated. Our body needs liquids to survive. The trick comes into reaching for the right drink when we feel the urge to cool off.
Turn more often for the ice cold water than for the high-sugar juice or soda. You’ll not only quench your thirst and feel good, but your body will thank you. Adding extra sugars to your body is bad news for your weight loss goals & possibly contributes to a sense of dehydration.
Two quick tips to keep in mind:
1) If you’re feeling tired and lethargic, try drinking water. Oftentimes, our body responds to great thirst by becoming tired. A cup or two of cold H2O may give your body just the right boost of energy to help keep you going.
2) If you’re hungry, try downing a cup of water. Sometimes, “hunger” is actually our bodies need for water, and drinking it will help to quell our hunger temporarily.
